Historique :
Le domaine de Preuilly йtait considйrй comme la premiиre baronnie de Touraine. En 930, le vicomte Atton, premier seigneur connu, y construisit un chвteau, appelй chвteau du Lion, qui fut dйtruit en 1130. Au 14e siиcle, la forteresse soutint plusieurs siиges contre les Anglais qui s'en emparиrent et la dйmantelиrent.

Bonjour Philippe,
It was very easy to find the Chateau built on top of the hill, at 46.8555, 0.9313 on the map, with the humble houses surrounding, as saw when taken a virtual tour through town.
Rather difficult to find a spot with full view of the Chateau when stride through the narrow streets there, yet managed to combine the view on this picture.

The fg cottage balances the composition with the chateau in the bg at right. Good sharpness and framing with well managed backlight and superb shadow detail. Tfs.

Hello Philippe,
The castle plays a minor role here, being seen in the distance at the top of the hill. But that is one reason why I like this composition. The house in the foreground may be in a bad shape, but it has an undeniable charm and it also balances the photo well. Another reason for liking this photo is the fine exposure and excellent colours.

This is a really pleasing photograph, from the subject, to the excellent composition and the clarity of the photograph.
This random stone building, with its tall chimney makes a superb, f/g feature, and creates a fine sense of depth to the chateau on the hill, with which it has a natural link.

Le sujet est bien cadrй. La prise de vue permet de voir les dйtails des maisons qui йtaient probablement situйes proche de l'ancien chвteau. La lumiиre rehausse les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journйe.

The composition is excellent with a good juxtaposition of the old house in the left hand foreground and the grand mansion in the distance next to it. Very nice and warm colours also.

Hello Philippe,

This is very strange but you posted the same photo some years ago. Of course, the castle and the old building haven't changed but also the clouds are the same what is improbable.
Nice picture anyway, the old stone house is picturesque. The castle is rather far away.
