cold night, a photo from Oulu, North

Photographer's Note

One of the really first cold night for this coming winter, we had -9 degrees C the morning of the 21st of october. The lake Valkiaisjдrvi is not frozen yet, so that there were nice fog playing with the morning light. Today (23.10) we already had some snow (maybe 3 cm), looks like winter is already here...

Interesting choice here, I would have most likely focused onto the background. I like the effect however, the diffuse sunlight in the mist looks really nice.

I can't quite make up my mind. Would I like more blur och less in the background. I feel it is "in between" right now. For some reason I keep staring at the middle of the image. Maybe a little lower POV would make room for more of the weed in the foreground. Making it dominate more? Maybe a slight USM would make the weed look a bit sharper?

You have found a very beutiful moment! I like how the morning light comes in from the side! And how the mist and the weed are lit, but it leaves a darker area in the middle.

Hi Sylvain !
At first I fought about something very hot, due to the yellow color.I would have put it in blue or green to give that feeling, but if you say it was cold, I do believe.

Absolutely excellent shot! Lovely effect with the golden sunrays that we can feel are unable to heat the frozen land :D excellent, truly excellent! I love your choice of composition and POV, giving the frozen grass all the place it needs and then setting up the scenery in a blurred BG. Truly and excellent shot! Congrats!

va faloir s'y resoudre, revoilа les grands froids. ce matin, 2° C donc toujours pas de gelйe au premier Novembre, c'est rarement arrivй.
je vois qu'il faut compter quelques degres en moins chez toi et malgrй ces couleurs chaudes par definition, on image n'arrive pas а me rechauffer !!
un plan tres sympa et une pdc courte accentuant cette nйbulositй du matin frileux.
