Happy Green Frog, a photo from Aarhus, West

Photographer's Note

I took a photo of this green frog when I was in Randers Regnskov, the tropical zoo of the city of Randers. Another photo which I also took in this tropical zoo can be found here.

This frog is called Litoria Infrafrenata or White-lipped Treefrog (but other names are: Giant Treefrog or Australasian Giant Green Treefrog) (Danish name: Hvidlжbet frш, Dutch name: Koraalteenkikker) This frog is from eastern Asia and is about 13cm. Don't you think this one looks very happy and satisfied?

I took the photo through glass, I hold my camera against the glass and I used my flash. In Picasa2 I gave it standard sharpness, saturation and I cropped it. In Microsoft Photo Editor I decreased the light a bit and in Neat Image I reduced the noice.

This is probably my last animal photo, so I didn't want to open an TL-account for only two photos.

WOOOOOOOOOOOW! Cool picture! Very sharp and very nearby. The green frog contrast so wonderfully with the orange background... Oh, and I just (now) notice it's your picture Stef! What coincidence! I just looked in the gallery. I love it. The frog only has blue paint on its mouth? ;)

Dag Stef, dit is wel zeer uitzonderlijk om deze mooie kikker te kunnen fotograferen, en de scherpte en de kleuren zijn van zeer hoog kwaliteit, van dit soort mogen er meer komen.
Zeer groot werk, mijn complimenten voor deze schitterende foto!

Dit is een zeer goede macro Stef .Prachtige kleuren en een uitzonderlijk goede scherpte .De achtergrond heeft een zeer mooi kleurcontrast en ik vindt het zeker een goede compositie .Een mooi potret van Kermit !! .Proficiat

Si dans la note tu n'avais pas prйcisй que la photo ait йtй prise а travers une glace, il йtait pratiquement impossible de s'en rendre compte.
Excellente prise de vue avec des couleurs йtonnantes.

wow, what vibrant colors! great job with the capture of its eyes, as that can make or break a shot. The sharpness and clarity make this shot even better. Very impressive results for shooting through glass with the flash!

Hi Stef, I like the way you shift themes here. This frog looks indeed content and I love the strong contrast between the green and ythe ochre background - in this way the thumbnail looks very enticing - and delivers when you click on it. The way the textured and gleamy skin is rendered here is fabulous. Xcellent job!

Great frog shot Stef!

Amazing colors and texture... he almost looks as though he's laquered. He's got a very swollen look to him, the arms and legs- maybe he's getting a bit old? hahaha.
Reminds me a lot of my fat toad here.
