A Beatiful Day, a photo from Vysocina, Moravia

Photographer's Note

Another view of Telč, this time from the castle park. The tall Gothic roof and tower are the church of St. James, built in the 14th century. The tower is 60 meters tall, and offers a magnificent view from the balcony at the top. It is usually only open to the public during tourist season, but if you are lucky, you can get in with the bell-ringers in the off-season. Taking a look around and watching the guys swing the two huge bells is well worth the climb.

The weather this Christmas was not very nice, but we did get one beautiful day between Christmas and New Year's... hence the name of the shot.

hello Dagmar,
postcard-perfect photo, I quite like how you used the trees to create a natural frame for the castle, although I might have tried selectively lightening the trunks and branches to bring out some details, they seem a bit too dark right now. love the patterns of the shadows in the foreground, they are my favourite element in the photo, remind me of a signature under the painting :)

Indeed a beautiful day and a beautiful photo!
The trees frame the buildings nicely while the frozen lake leads the eye to the town. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has excellent sharpness. The deep blue sky provides nice contrast for the rest of the scene.

Olб Dasha, a beautiful day indeed. This is a marvellous framing, the trees on the sides like an opened curtain to show the architecture in the background. Almost seems like a theater stage. In a second will enter the actors and actrisses sliding on the ice and a story will be told... ;-) Lovely colors and play of shadows on the snowed surface.

This is a stunning image. I love how the leaning trees are making a frame for the church, which is standing in gorgeous light. Even the long shadows across the road have an important part to play in the overall scene. Well done

This shot is so beautiful that I find it a little unrealistic, too much beautiful to be true. It's the kind of landscape I only see in movies ! We doesn't even see the least step on snow.
Really nice and charming place. Very colored also.
The play of the shades of the trees is also very beautiful.
