Brist, a photo from Splitsko-Dalmatinska, Coast

Photographer's Note

Brist is a tourist village (about 450 people) in southern Dalmatia, Croatia, located between Makarska and Ploče.
In my photo: a private beach and houses built on the edge of the sea, probably illegal because the law says that houses could be built at least 70 m from the sea line.

No tak, to rzeczywiscie nie wyglada mi na 70 metrow. :-)
Piekne cieple swiatlo oswietla budynki, swietny kontrast z otaczajaca je ciemna zielenia.

These houses look to have the most idyllic setting, straight out of the door and onto the beach but, as you say, illegal in their positioning! I wonder if the houses get flooded in bad weather! That would seem the most reasonable reason for insisting the houses are built away from the water!!

However, your photograph shows a very beautiful spot, the attractive, multi-level houses enjoying the water as a forefront and the conifer slopes behind. You have paid firm attention to the rules in your composition.

If global heating is not stopped very soon, these houses for the nouveau riche and privileged (and maybe corrupt) will in due time be flooded. They should enjoy this location while they can. Meanwhile we can enjoy the pleasant view and the well captured fine light.

Beautiful white houses so close from the sea. Fine light contrasts , even this was difficult to manage.

Ryszard, that cosy house was built illegally for sure. It s too close from the sea, moreover the coastline belongs to everybody, it s not allowed to have a private beach. The cliff is covered by shrubs and trees. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.

An idyllic view of the coastline. The large and beautiful houses stand out so well from the green slopes behind them and they look amazing and the warm sunlight. I like the inclusion of the two boats on the left also.

Cześć Ryszard, Zawsze mnie zdumiewa na zdjęciach z Grecji lub Chorwacji, że domy są tak blisko morza. No tutaj to juz przesadzili. Czy tam nie ma sztormуw? Sympatyczna mała plaża. A ty stałeś w wodzie, czy pływałeś łуdką?

Probably the owner of this spacious villa does not like sunbathing on the beach and therefore placed the building as close to the water as possible.
An ideal place for such a building and excellently photographed with beautiful deep natural colours.

Hello Ryszard,
This small place has a beautiful location enclosed by the steep mountain slope and the Adriatic Sea.
However, the beach seems very narrow.
With a bit of luck you can dive into the sea from one of the balconies.
