Photographer's Note

I found my old slides and scanned a few. My photo is only a bit younger that fascinating Gert's oldies, it was made in August 1975. But it is much less exotic and the quality is poor for obvious reasons: very simple Soviet camera Smiena, first version even without number, DDR ORWO Chrom film and poor photographer. But I have no photos from Bulgaria in my gallery, so I put yellow dot on the map.

In the seventies of last century Bulgaria was very popular destination in Poland, many of my friends went for holidays there. One could get easily special passport for East countries and to buy limited amount of currency. And then could enjoy guaranty of warm Black Sea and sunny weather. So I went with my son, husband and his parents to Bulgaria, by Wartburg (it was such DDR car) and with tents. This photo was made in the northern Bulgaria, near Romanian border, in very nice village Balchik. I saw there a mosque for the first time and this fascination remained. And I make shopska salad since then very often.
