‘Tervuren - More bluebells’
Some more pictures of bluebells.
According to Wikipedia, these flowers are said to grow mainly in deciduous forests in the north of the Iberian Peninsula, the British Isles, western France and western Belgium.
In Belgium, Brussels would form the border to where the flowers can grow. To the east of it, the winters are a bit colder at night, which prevents these flowers from growing.
The most famous place in Belgium to find them is the Hallerbos, a forest near the town of Halle, a little west of our capital.
Funny but I found them in a forest in Tervuren, a little east of Brussels :)
The bluebell is threatened by deforestation.
The flower only grows in old forests, and because of its large seeds, it only self-seeds in its immediate vicinity.

Bonsoir Paul,
J'apprécie le jeu entre les sones éclairées et les zones ombragées. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails des fleurs et des arbres. La lumière donne un bon rendu aux couleurs de l'image. Bonne soirée.

Hello Paul,
The ground is covered with a beautiful blue and green carpet, but the photo depends a lot on the trees and especially the long diagonal shadows. I was about to object that bluebells are also very common in Sweden, or they were at least during my childhood. But then I realized that our bluebells are not the same as these. I couldn't see the difference from this distance. But the wood anemones of the WS are definitely also very common here, and among the first signs of spring.
Best regards,
Gert

Hallo Paul,
Opnieuw een mooie mix van het frisse groen aan de bomen en het blauwe tapijt van de bloemetjes tussen de vele stammen in het bos. Het licht was mooi en helder en gaf mooie, lange schaduwen.

Hi Paul, this is not a sight I can see in my woods and it is only fair to dedicate a second post to this fantastic flowering. On the other hand, there are many anemones like those in the WS, a punctual and abundant flowering, a great symbol of spring. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Salut Paul,
superbe ce tapis de fleurs et très bon effet de cadrage avec ces ombres allongées sur le sol, elles accentuent l'effet de perspective, une présentation original de ce plaisant lieu à l'atmosphère printanière, bien pris.

Hi Paul,
A very geometric composition with all the vertical tree trunks and the converging shadows. You found a great place to see bluebells. The low sunlight gives a magical quality to the scene.

Hello Paul,
Bluebells make the most spectacular, spring displays. Did you find the bluebells growing alongside wild garlic as well as anemones? It happens in England.
I like how the long tree shadows give a striped effect to the ground. You have achieved a fine contrast between the vertical trunks and their horizontal shadows.
The close-up confirms that these are what we call English bluebells, though you may call them Belgian bluebells. All the bells hang from one side; Spanish bluebells grow more upright and with the bells coming from all sides.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Paul,
This is a neatly composed photo, where the shadows all pointing towards a 1/3 part of the photo, that is to say the photo obeys the rule of thirds. The lights and colours are also nice.
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Hi Paul,
Charming composition.
I see you have tried to hidebehind one of the trees but I suppose in the consequence of the pandemic diet and lifestyle you were not able to fit behind these narrow trees :)
So this is why I don't recall the blue bell season from my childhood in Poland! And this is why I should really cherish the opportunity to capture it here, and regrettably I never really used that opportunity.
Great reportage, nice to see the natural aspects of Belgium,

Hello Paul,
I like playing with the shadows of trees, I even tried photographing some in my neighborhood today, so of course this view from the forest caught my eye. The frame is filled with lots of vertical lines and vibrant colors. It's a lovely spring view.

Hello Paul,
I wouldn't have thought that this is in Belgium ... as you beautifully called it ' Bluebellgium ' , I like it :-)
I always wanted to see bluebells in the woods ...
Now, you've given me these glorious photos from you.
The last time I saw here, was posted by Jean ( jean113 ).
I just love the two colours - Blue and Green with a sprinkle of white ( anemones ). The trees' shadows add 'dynamism' to the forest ... like 'feelgood factor' :-)
As always, I've enjoyed all your pictures.
Tfs,
Loong

Hello Paul,
The blue bell flowers have already faded and the leaves on the trees have developed beautifully, but the photo captures the period of last spring. I like the long shadow of trees on the ground.
Perfect nature photo with good quality.
Best regards,
Zbigniew
