MALDEGEM FALLEN TREE.

History.
On February 6, I drove along the canal like almost every day.
The storm was severe, >90 km/h, no problem for me, I drove with the wind.
But suddenly the tree was blown over by the storm.
Fortunately, I was already far away.
A young lady came as a runner, and was a member of the Maldegem Fire Brigade, she informed her superior, and after fifteen minutes the people were on site, to clear the way for cyclists and pedestrians, because cars are not allowed to drive here, this is forbidden.
Here I can speak of a bit of luck.

the wind can destroy many trees during storms, a pity the beautiful row of threes was damaged too, there is an empty space in the row now. nice image showing the firemen at work.

This is incedible. I would think that the trees are so narrow and without leaves that the wind should not bother them too much.
What a good luck that it didn't hit you or anybody else.

Hello John,
You used this opportunity well to take some photos showing some excitement and people at work. They made quite a difference to the usual pictures of the undisturbed long lines of trees. Human activities are a benefit to most photos. And when the photos are so well composed and technically good as these, they make a pleasure to the eyes.

Hallo John,
Dus deze foto nam je in Maldegem.
Ik dacht echt dat dit hier ergens in de heel onmiddellijke omgeving van Damme was.
Het landschap met de lange bomenrijen en het kanaal oogt prachtig zoals op al je foto's. Dit beeld heeft echter ook een nieuwswaarde en het toont de brandweermannen in volle actie.
Vanop het juiste punt toont je foto de wegblokkade door de gevallen boom en de takken.
Uitstekende compositie, heel veel diepte in het scherpe en heldere beeld en de opruimactie in volle gang.

Hallo John,
Het was een pittige storm vorige week en de gevolgen zijn hier duidelijk te zien met deze boom die dwars over het pad is gevallen en waar de brandweerlieden druk mee in de weer waren. Mooie actiefoto.

That's well and truly uprooted, a beautifully captured scene but it's always sad to see a tree fallen. The converging trees makes for good viewing and there's a feeling you are right in the picture. Beautiful colours, good detail and depth. Excellent shot

Hello John,

We are experiencing very strong winds, at the moment. I sincerely hope that we don't experience a tree fall, like this. It is always sad when such a lovely tree falls, even more sad when you learn that more of the Amazonian Forest has been felled by men, than in any previous year!

Your photograph is both informative and well exposed. You have kept your camera steady despite the strong winds.
The trio of workmen make a good f/g focus, whilst the converging line of trees creates an excellent sense of perspective.

'Men At Work' in the scene ... I wouldn't like to be in their shoes , doing all the cleaning up :-)
I do remember this stretch of long road. Seemingly, you're quite often cycling on this road.
You were twice lucky with the storm. First, you've missed the fallen tree and secondly , you rode with the wind !
A young lady in the WS, it was a good job she reported it to her colleagues. And it was dealt immediately !

Hi John.
A composition with a wonderful perspective, the one given by the lines of trees, the canal and the path, a good example of the cleaning team removing the remains of the fallen tree, these trees have an enormous height and in comparison their trunk is not so thick, a danger with very strong winds.
Magnificent composition and color, as well as an excellent
