Stained-glass windows
When the light shines through the stained-glass windows, you can see where the appeal of these art treasures comes from. St. Catherine's Church contains stained glass windows from different periods in history. The eye-catchers are undoubtedly the 16th-century windows that adorn the choir. But also, the windows from the 19th and even 20th century are pearls that cannot be missed.

Hello John,

Fantastic stained glass windows with well managed lighting and perfect sharpness. I have found it easier to manually adjust the settings as auto setting tends to overexpose the windows. Nice use of the principle of three here too. Tfs!

Hi John,

I love stained glass windows. There is nothing that compares to the purity of colour and light when the sun shines through them. This is a great example of the simple style of 19th and 20th century stained glass. Great sharpness and light control.

Hello John,

I always like to see stained glass windows, they reveal artistry, style and history.
These Biblical scenes are decorated with very pretty borders and icons and are very well composed in your sharp photograph.

Are these the later stained glass windows, they seem more modern?

Het is hier driemaal het middendeel van de glasramen dat prachtige kleurrijke figuren uitbeeldt. Ik veronderstel dat men het geheel eerder sober wilde houden.
Net zoals Beverley, ben ik ook benieuwd of dit de eerdere of latere glasramen zijn.
Alleszins, een zeer degelijke en scherpe presentatie.

Hi John,
I never succeeded to take a decent photo of stained windows. It is dark inside and they are bright. I never know how to photograph it well. So I admire very much this capture here. Nice symmetry with the repeated motif.

Dag John There is lot of photographic experience spent, pre and post exposure, for such a perfect depiction of the many stained glass figures masterly exposed for quite understandable color details. I know the difficulty one has to overcome for a good tonal balance involving high and lower tones in the same
picture; you mastered all of these perfectly.
