2019 Bike trip to Ruddervoorde, after the thunderstorm about Flanders this forenoon
I got this history from people from the area, I don't know this castle at all, I hope this is all right.
History of the castle family.
The Pecsteens make their family tree climb until the Middle Ages. There are a few Pecsteens in the Bruges city accounts of the 14th century, without a connection being made with the later Pecsteens.
Gertrude Pecsteen († 1344) became the abbess of the abbey of Spermalie in 1333.
The first ancestor of the following Pecsteens was Simon Pecsteen, son of Simon, who married Isabelle van der Beke in 1601. Jacobus Pecsteen, mentioned below, was their only son. From Simon, or at least from James, the Pecsteen students studied law and placed themselves at the service, as a bailiff, clerk or recipient of congregations or delights, as well as director and recipient of large families such as the Croÿ family. The Pecsteens were mainly active in West Flanders and their name remains connected with Maldegem, Oedelem and Ruddervoorde. The center of the family was in Bruges. The head of the family was then Jacques Pecsteen (1660-1730), lord of Buytswerven, who was married to Jeanne Goeman (1685-1743). Their two sons, Jean-François Pecsteen (1719-1783) and Philippe Pecsteen (1726-1794) were the father of the following relatives.
I hope that you enjoy it

Hello John,
I think it makes the photo more interesting that we only see a small part of the castle through the gap between the trees and the opening of the hedge. It is like I am standing outside this private property secretly watching the family's house. It creates a certain excitement, and furthermore the photo is so marvellously sharp and well exposed. There is a beautiful contrast between the green tones and the red brick wall.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hallo John,
Vele groeten, Paul

Hi John,
The trees are framing well the castle. The point of view is showing the details of the Ruddervoorde castle. The light is enhancing the beauty of the colors. Have a nice day.

Hallo John,
De warme tinten van de bakstenen worden mooi omlijst door de vele groene tinten van de bomen en de heggen. Het licht was heel aangenaam. Uitstekende foto van dit kasteel.

Hello John, the pov suggests the castle hidden behind the thick vegetation. The well maintained garden contains hedges and big trees. The building is made of red bricks. Sharp shot

Hello John.
Leaves are the ideal frame for the facade of the castle. The air is clear after the storm and the photo gains for this reason. Great shot, as usual..
I wish you a good evening.

Wonderful lush greenery provides a natural framing and subsequently leads the eye to the outstanding castle with excellent attention to detail. Your usual exposure level is great. Excellent shot.

Hello John,
Missed this one. The red brick building with the step pyramid roof has been well framed between the 2 large bushy green trees. Goo colour sharpness and saturation. Tfs!

Ciao John
l'architettura è molto bella e sei riuscito a creare molta curiosità con questa foto, il castello sembra mostrare il suo volto con timidezza, attraverso il verde degli alberi.
Saluti
