Old timer:

During my bike ride I saw twenty old cars, coming on the border between Belgium and the Netherlands (Maldegem B - Eede Nl)

This is the information about the old cars on that day on the border with the Netherlands

Welcome to the site of the WVOC,
the West Flemish Oldtimer Club

For sixteen years (the club exists since March 1999), we try to offer activities and information to our club of old-timer enthusiasts i.v. their hobby. The activities usually consist of tours in West Flanders and a piece of East and even Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, but also from a three-day trip to either Wallonia, or France, the Netherlands.
Of course, it is not only the intention that the participant can drive with his car but of course also that the participant gets to see something and has a pleasant day. That is why we try to take care of our course so that we have to drive as little as possible on busy roads, the pace of the tours is not too high and there is also stopping in time for a drink and a dribble.

As I have mentioned before I don't care much for cars generally, but I admire those who can keep an old one like this in such a good condition. I respect their passion, and I appreciate this well taken photo. So if you saw 20 of these old cars I expect there will be 15 more photos like this. ;-)

To me it looks like this is an Opel Olympiamost likely 1951 model. Anyway, it’s another fine shot of a beautiful and well maintained car in your gallery. Excellent sharpness and a well chosen angle. Lovely work😊

Hello John,
Looking at Wikipedia, I believe this is an Opel Olympia dating from the nineteen-fifties. It looks in reasonable condition for a vehicle getting on for seventy years old. Excellent capture. I like the sense of motion and the well rendered colours and details.

Ik kan me dit type auto nog wel herinneren uit mijn prille jeugd, maar ik zou niet meer weten van wel merk het is. Altijd een interessant foto-onderwerp, deze oldtimers. Altijd fotogeniek ook als de zon niet schijnt.

Hello John,

I know modern cars have far more luxury and comfort than the old models but, you know, there is something about the character of old cars. They were much more individualistic and boy, did they attract attention when they motored down the roads!
I suppose they attract that same sort of attention now! Seeing cars like this, you would be unlikely to ignore them!
This is a fine shot! The details of the car are apparent, right down to the shiny, chrome bits! You have placed the car very well in the frame, leaving lots of space into which it can travel and setting it at a good angle for a sense of perspective.
I like it very much!

haha, another fine car to add to this collection. You have posted so many of these beauty cars as you're driving as well. the colour of the car may not be that attractive, (not your fault), but its still a car I'd love to have in my garage.
