Photographer's Note
Derivation is a channel created at the XIXe century in the town of Liege in Belgium, having replaced various arms of the Meuse. Several reasons justified this work: - improve the navigation , - realese livable surface and cleanse the neighbourhoods of the river.
The space between the river Meuse and the Derivation is named Outre-Meuse, well-known for Simenon and its folklore.

Hello Pierre,
Like your picture, because my parents live close to Liège and I know how the area around the canalized river Meuse can be quite dark and depressing. A lot of character as well.
A pity that it is what most passing tourists see first, if they see anything of Liège at all... Liège has some beautiful places as well.
Your picture is quite dark, but that could also be due to the scanning. Sweet small point-and-shoot, the mju II. Based on that, a great picture! ;-)
Greetings, Dennis
