First Sunday after lock-down, Bruges completely empty, no people on street
Normally one of the most the crowded place of the city.

Boat trip or cruise on the Bruges canals in Bruges.

Ah Bruges, the Venice of the North ..
It is therefore a must for every visitor to walk along the Bruges canals during a visit. But is a boat trip or cruise in Bruges on the canals not to be considered?
Which boat do you choose?
What can determine your choice is where you are at that moment. There are several moorings.

Hallo John, that place is usually teeming with activity but the boat departure is empty due to the lockdown. The buildings along the canal are reflecting in the water. Bruges' splendid architecture appears in the bg. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

Hello John,
All buildings seen here are quite pretty, but the one of Ark Van Zarren has the most personal character, apart from the church. All buildings along the sunny side of the canal are very nicely reflected. You took a lot of fine photos on that first Sunday efter lockdown. It was a good day for you.

Hello John,

A wonderfully quiet scene - but also a sad one because of the lack of people due to Covid-19. No people in the streets, those boats covered and empty of passengers but the water of the canal is beautifully smooth and provides glorious reflections of the brightly lit buildings.

A very fine composition with lovely light, rich colours, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness.

It is a beautiful picture. The water is so still it has given you perfect reflections.
Your point of view makes good use of the slight bend of the canal leading our eyes through the scene.

Bruges is so charming, and every view seems to have even more character than the one before. I like the different architecture, especially the Ark Van Zarren building. The bricks and the red doors are very pretty. This spot looks very calm with no visitors. The reflections are nice, too. Take care...

Wat zorgde het kalme water hier voor prachtige en heldere spiegelingen! Het is een heel mooie foto van deze oude gebouwen vlak bij de kerk. Zeer goede kleuren ook, vooral het rood aan de rechterkant is aantrekkelijk.

Hello John,

This really is one of your most beautiful photographs of Bruges, during the lockdown. It is full of wonderfully sharp details of the buildings, all repeated as reflections in the mirror-like water of the canal.

It is surprising how well the canal guides us so smoothly into the scene, to meet the bridge and the church.

We zien slechts een beperkt deel van de kerk maar het is mooi hoe ze oprijst naast het kanaal en de huizen.
Zeer heldere en perfecte weerspiegelingen in het water.
Prachtige rood-wit-blauwe combinatie.

wow this is so beautiful!
Amazing light conditions, the town houses so well lit and most importantly so well reflected in the water. There must have been no wind and the water surface was perfectly smooth like a mirror.
Very well selected point of view to make the best use of the stunning conditions.

Missed this one. The diagonal canal with its superb reflections adds excellent linear perspective. Fantastic warm cold colour contrasts between the red roofs and blue sky with impeccable sharpness. Tfs!

Een hooi hoekje Brugge, met mooi licht, een heerlijk blauwe lucht en leuke reflecties. Ik denk datik weet waar het is. We waren in Brugge met het Hemelvaartweekend, helaas met minder goed weer. De terrasjes zaten nochtans heel vol. Zelf hebben we vooral van de Vlaamse primitieven genoten.
