During a rainy afternoon I started making church interiors again, now in Eeklo 10 km from my house.

I did use a tripod and remote control

EEKLO CHURCH – STAINED-GLASS

Dobbelaere from Bruges made the stained-glass windows for the high choir. The middle five were placed in 1883, the other four in 1885. They were donated by the local clergy. The middle window depicts Saint Vincent, surrounded at the top by angels, and at the bottom in the prison. Below that is an angel with the coat of arms of Eeklo above an oak forest and below that the currencies: "Crux de Cruce", "Lumen in coelo", "In nomine Domini" and "Adveniat Regnum Tuum".

Hello John,
You showed us this window before as part of a triptych, but we see the details much more clearly now when you bring them so much closer. The soft light coming through the window has given the colours a most appealing intensity. The work was very nicely done, both by the painter almost 140 years ago and by you when taking this photo.

Being from the 1800s this stained-glass is in top conditions. Its colours are still bright, indicating careful maintenance.

Hi John,

The design of this window is very pleasing, with its Neogothic stone tracery. I like the colours, which are bright but harmonious. Good exposure, which can be difficult with stained glass, and tight framing with no distortion.

Hello John,

Reasonable sharpness with a perfect exposure, which I know from experience is quite difficult for this type of shot as the auto settings wants to expose for the bright outside light and not the stained glass. Striking warm cold colour contrasts here between the red and blue tones. Tfs!
