Monaco?, a photo from Minskaya, West

Photographer's Note

I don't know what Monaco means here. I can only guess that it is a music pub with live music or karaoke or something else. As I wrote in my previous post there aren't much street advertising in Minsk and that feels a bit weird but refreshing. It is also a very clean city, probably the cleanest city that I ever have visited. You can see many street cleaners in the streets and parks working to keep the city center clean and tidy. The government informs about an extremely low unemployment but who knows what is true. Belarus is quite controversial. Anyway a good idea to employ a lot of people to keep the city clean, that should be done in Stockholm too.

Hi Boa,i thought to a perfum avdertising first,but i think that you are correct about what means that reading "karaoke" under the lovely girl. The perspective is amazing,the girl walking have some elements in blue and black like the girl of the pic,very well composed and sharp despite the bad light. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Som redan pеpekats stеr det "kafй karaoke" pе affischen. Det hдr дr en bild jag verkligen gillar. Inte sе mеnga detaljer, fе fдrger, rena linjer, snygga trappsteg- Fцr min del mycket intressantare дn alla dessa vyer av tomma gator och kyrkfasader. Arbetslцshetsstatistiken дr nog bara fejk, precis som fцrr i tiden. Ekonomin дr ganska usel, men hela regementen av gatsopare hyfsar ju statistiken och kostar inte sе mycket. Men alla svenska politiker som vill ha enkla jobb kanske kunde fundera pе att hеlla svenska stдder rena.

Very interesting photo, the line woman and Tyne striking ad are a very eye-catching scene. Something quite bleak and the ad seems somehow ominous which sets a great tone

Hello Boa, I saw the information about this Monaco in Google - it is the new coffee bar that is open 24 hours a day, very popular. The street name is the Winners Avenue. Nice scene in a rainy day. Indeed, not only Minsk, but also other towns are incredibly clean, it is something that is shocking for all, in positive sense. Some of my friends were in Belarus this year and liked the trip there. I also was nicely surprised.
Had you new money already? when I was there one euro was worth 22 000 roubles. it was funny to be millionaire there :).

I like the inferred link between the lady and the poster lady, they really stand out against a most attractive, patterned b/g of geometric shapes.
The one outside is struggling to keep dry from the elements; the one on the poster is cool and chic ... come and join her!

A lovely street life and urban scape taken from good shooting point that forces the eye to look into the frame and there does seem to be a strong connection between the woman-about-town and the glamorous advert. Positioning is appropriate as well as timing, that said, this is pleasing on the eye... Well done candid, Congrats

Hello, Boa,
It was a very clever idea to photograph such an interesting scene. Despite the rainy weather at the moment of capturing, the picture is rather bright and colorful, mainly due to including to the composition a passer-by and a commercial ad of the karaoke cafe at the Victors' [in WW II] avenue, 17. An excellent composition, interesting details, perfect quality and very informative note. Great job!

I've missed a number of your lasts posts, i better get at them! this is your best of the bunch from your most recent sets of shots.

i love these well observed scenes with simple shapes and simple forms, and bold colours mixed in. its just so pleasing to the eye. just my opinion, but i like this one more than the WS photo where the green grass is cut.
