"Nothing special".., a photo from Minskaya, West

Photographer's Note

..is a good title when it's hard to write a description or perhaps for a daily scene like this. It was nice to arrive to this city on my second attempt(I was stopped at the border some years ago due problem with my Visa) The public bus service seems to be quite good developed in Minsk, I never had to wait more than a few minutes for the bus. The passengers that we can see here are probably on their way home after a days work or maybe other purposes, who knows:)Anyway an interesting city if you looking for Soviet architecture, not much advertising in the streets and an genuin East Europe atmosphere.

Som du nog vet дr jag mer intresserad av mдnniskors vardagsliv дn av vykort av kyrkor och slott, sе den hдr bilden passar mig bra. I bakgrunden syns ju en kyrka ocksе, sе fler дn jag kan gilla den.

Hello Boa, Belarus is so rare here on TE that it is quite special picture. Nice night shot with the ordinary life scene with the bus. I haven't tried he buses, I used only the bus to and from the airport. I walked around on foot. I like Minsk and Belarus, much more than I expected. WArm regrads MAlgo

Hello Boa,

Ha! Ha! I remember Gert beginning this aspect of photography and it seems appropriate in many situations. Maybe nothing special but one which introduces a story ... as you say, on their way home or other purposes! I would imagine 'other purposes' would be more exciting. As a person with a vivid imagination - the girl on the phone is planning a secret meeting, the girl with the long hair is wondering if she should apologise for letting down her friend, whilst the person in the grey jacket, is remembering all the details of the location of the secret meeting.
I love to people watch and how great is this when no-one is aware of my attention!

It's a very well taken photograph in such a low light situation and, I would imagine, without a tripod.
The angled composition is well judged.

Hello Boa,
This bus looks exactly like the ones we had in Brussels years ago. Even the colour and the interior as far as I can see here.
You mention Soviet architecture ... I don't think that the church of which we can get a glimpse above the bridge does belong to that style. But its towers surely look very beautiful.
