Photographer's Note
Even in Minsk it's popular with murals(as long as it's controlled by the authorities)Here we can see two artists who have started the work with a big painting in an old industrial area in Minsk. I have a passion for old brick buildings and visited an interesting here. A building that hosted many young artists and other creative people that have kept the original exterior facade of the buildings untouched and started cafes, art galleries etc. Minsk was razed to the ground in WW2 as you might know and most of the buildings in the city was rebuilt during the Soviet period with many interesting but also many quite boring.
Well, it's soon end of summer and it's time for TE again after a long absence. It's gonna be nice to see many of the pictures that have been posted during the summer:)

Good to see you are back on TE, Boa.
Nice that the municipality of Minsk allow mural paintings with a crane, maybe even providing it.
Colorful picture, will be interesting to see the outcome of the finished wall.
Good evening,
Ike

Hej Boa,
Gert
PS var det inga problem med visum?

Hi Boa,welcome back after some months....and it's nice to discover the destination of your last trip, always original countries far by the tourist mass. The first is very very nice with the right title,i like the rich composition and the contrast between the modern time of the graffitis and the old with the Lenin statue...well done! Have a nice week and thanks,Luciano

Hello Boa,
This is a certain way of getting your art work seen by lots of people!
I wonder why other aspiring artists haven't adopted this idea!
(Well of course, there is Banksie but his art work gets stolen!!)
I like how the platform acts as a lead line and as a separator between the art and the head of the critic, who is reserving his judgement until after the painting is completed.
My arm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello, Boa!
The bricks create a very nice pattern on the image, and their different colors make it a very attractive photo! Interesting composition including the statue on the bottom part of the image! Excellent colors and sharpness! Beautiful job!

Hi Boa
Lenin is not happy with these young people painting the wall over him, it should remain grey!
Nice street photography
Cheers

hello Boa, Nice to see you here back. When somebody doesn't appear for longer time I am afraid that left the site for ever. So you wnet to Belarus! Rather few people go there. I was in Minsk and some other places in May on my way to and from Kazakhstan. Maybe you will look at my gallery when you have a bit of time. Funny picture with the statue of Lenin still there. But Belarus is called "the reservation (or skansen) of Socialism". I find this a bit strange as in all the places I visited, in Minsk and other ones, there was impeccable cleanness, all the walls were white and the streets without any garbage. excellent composition with these artists at work.

Hello Boa,
These are real huge wall paintings and very high too!
A very funny sight with the bust of Lenin in the lower left corner.
Nice contrast between the upper colourful part and the grey part at the bottom.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Boa,
the scene is interesting for the combination of History and renovation it features, we get hints of both in a mysterious scenery but I think that both parts of the combination feel uncertain and the question mark of your title suits this feeling so well. A great observation, this picture is like an essay on modern times. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a good night,
Ourania

Hi Boa
The irony is inescapable!
The face of fiercesome Lenin and scars of time is like turning back 50 years... He appeared very angry as to why the building is being painted with newly colourful fresh coat of paints rather than his fav greyness Commie dull colour!! Super association, well spotted and excellent photojournalism. Congrats
Best wishes
