Photographer's Note

As many valleys in the Zillertal, the Zillergrund (grund = valley in the Zillertaler Alps) ends with an impressive concrete wall, 180 meters high retaining the water of the surrounding glaciers.
It is located at 1800 meters altitude and only reachable by feet or bus, the individual cars have to park at 1400 meters and go the rest by foot (or bus of course).
On the other side of the dam, you will find a nice lake surrounded by many alpine peaks and the nice Plauener Htte that I visit that day.
Here it is on the way to the refuge.
On the left you can see the Grosser Magner,2873 m and above the lake, the Grundschartner,3066 m
