Le Malecon, a photo from La Habana, West

Photographer's Note

Dans centro Habana, le Malecуn est un lieu incontournable ! C’est un remblai de 7 km de long qui protиge la ville de la mer. La digue a йtй construite au XXe siиcle, puis consolidйe et agrandie par la suite. Le Malecуn est, pour les Havanais, un lieu de rencontres, de fкte, de vie. Une promenade longe la digue, au dйpart du castillo San Salvador de la Punta, jusqu’au castillo de la Chorrera : on peut y admirer de nombreux monuments dignes d’intйrкt.

Avec ces puissantes vagues qui dйferlent et les embruns qu'elles jettent dans la rue, je comprends l'intйrкt de cet endroit. Plusieurs immeubles semblent en dйcrйpitude. Tu as bien captй le mouvement de cette vague.

Bonjour Serge,

La capture de la puissance des vagues est un atout а la composition. La distance entre l'ocйan et les immeuble donne de la profondeur а l'image. La prise de vue permet de voir les dйtails et les couleurs de l'architecture des immeubles. La lumiиre donne de belles teintes aux couleurs de l'image.

Oh ! ben, зa ne rigole pas а La Havane, pas question de fumer le cigare (de Havane, bien sыr) а proximitй des vagues йcumeuses.

The majestic power of the sea is well captured here. If this is what it is like on a good day, I wonder what it would be like with a hurricane right over the top of Havana? I dont think Id like to be in the ground or 1st floor to find out! Good sharpness & graphism & the people add scale. Merci et bon weekend!

Superb documantary shot. Some new rather ugly block and the old houses look like after the war, they are so worn out. Good timing - you caught the splash of water just in time.

I find this fascinating and a super record of the Malecon. The buildings are now being restored and some of those deterioating facades are now back to their former glory. Your picture has a wonderful atmosphere and I like the huge wave crashing down.

impressionnantes ces vagues, on en entend presque le fracas de son siиge devant le PC.Un spectacle qui a l'air de plaire а quelques personnes. Une architecture pas folichonne sur la rive mais si on en lit bien la note, le lieu est intйressant.

I have never visited Cuba. This is one of the places where I wish to be. Excellent capture of the stormy ocean, it reminds me some photos of Costantino with the big vawes in the city.

I like very much this picture. Cuba is very similar to my country, but the Malecуn in Havana is more packed and colorful than the one in Santo Domingo. I like your composition, as it puts a lot of action in the frame.
