Paintings and murals of Ernesto "Che" Guevara can be seen in many streets in Havana, or all over Cuba for that matter. Here I have captured Che on a multi coloured wall in the old town in the capital. On this wall he enjoy the company of the former Venuzuelan President, Hugo Chбvez.

Man kan tycka vad man vill om Che och Chбvez, men de gцr sig bra pе stora offentliga idolportrдtt som hдr. Jag ser hellre pе dessa bеda дn pе portrдtt av Bush och Trump. (Men de lдr nog aldrig hamna pе nеgon kubansk vдgg.) Bilden lever ju hцgt pе de starka fдrgerna pе vдggen, och inte minst pе personerna som sitter i skuggan och njuter av vдrmen. Detta дr en perfekt kombination av mдnniskor, arkitektur och vдggmеlningar. En alldeles utmдrkt gatubild.

Hi Erling,the portrait of Che is the most common painting in Cuba,there are things like that everywhere as i remember well..ehhee..but the atmosphere of old walls of the capital increasing the beauty of the composition,and the usual local group doing nothing..ahaha..lovely pic very sharp and bright,i like it! Hello Erling,
There is a great contradiction with the two portraits depicted:
Che was a freedom fighter, a communist nevertheless, still fought for the well being of people - but Chavez was merely a dictator.
But politics is no subject here, the painting is beautiful and the daily life street scene is authentic.

Many details here leave no doubt that the photo was taken in Havana: the colors and the old aspect of the wall, the people on the streets, and especially those 2 drawings on the wall. Great capture from Cuba, with excellent light and sharpness! Well done!

Yes Che is everywhere in Cuba but I have not seen Chavez before on one of these weathered walls.
A fine relaxed Carribbean scene too.

Erling, The Che and the former Venezuelian president Hugo Chavez are represented on this dilapidated wall in La Habana. The persons seated on the sidewalk animate the scene. Good memory. Fine colors, excellent sharpness, regards.

Hello Erling, I remember well this mural with Che and Chavez. One can see their portraits in many places, here they are close to each other. The people sitting under it do not pay any attention. Charming composition with the very nice colours.

This scene is very Cuban: a painting of Che, chipped paint on the wall, and people sitting out in the street. I like the mix of real people and painted ones, even though I don't prefer the painted people. The colors are nice, too.

Stunning warm cold colour contrasts between the blue and yellow, with the seated people at right adding scale and animating the scene. The bg graffiti featuring Che Guvara & Hugo Chбvez adds a strong focal point. Tfs!

Chбvez and Che, side by side. I also saw such a mural in Nicaragua.
But the yellow, blue and green of the wall give something charming at the picture.
Of course also the presence of the Cubanos in their chairs on the sidewalk.
