Photographer's Note

One of the many workers at this Sugar Cane near San Isidro. The working conditions are terrible and very dangerous. I don't want to say much more, but everyone stay tuned for Mark Gong's article he will write about the working conditions for Sugar Cane workers in Nicaragua. Its hard to imagine that some of the sugar you are eating which is so enjoyable could come from a place so disgusting.

This is where the sugar cane is dropped off, it is then brought inside the plant where they boil it and chop it up, + many steps before they package it as the white sugar we know.
