Photographer's Note
The Registan-place is the heart of Samarkand. Three madrasahs form an unique architectural ensemble. In the 17th century the ruler of Samarkand Yalangtush Bakhodur ordered the construction of the Sherdor-Madrasah. The Sherdor (Having Tigers) Madrasah was designed by architect Abdujabor. It is not usual that in islamic architecture living creatures are used as decorative element. At this madrasa there are tigers (or lions) antilopes and suns(?) with human faces on the facade

Hello Roland! I havent seen your photos for ages ;-)
This one is really good one! I like your composition here and the light effect on the Sherdor. Plus great sharpen details and color balance.
Perfect shot :)
thanks!

Roland,
I think the Registan ensemble is one of the great public spaces in the world. I like this late afternoon, atmospheric shot of the Sherdor Madrassah with the gold tones.
Best,
Michael
