On the island of Koh Samui, they are building a temple. This island has nothing more going for it outisde of a party place, so even the ruins are new. That is real gold on the face by the way.

I wonder about the scale of the statue. It will take time to entirely cover it. At this stage, that gives a curious effect.

I like this picture a lot...it is very interesting and lifelike enough to merit a second glance. It is also a rare and refreshing change from completed or ruined temple shots. The composition is great and the lustre of the gold really makes it interesting.

What an intersting image... before reading the note I wasn't sure if he was real or not! The shine off the gold is really striking... Well spotted creative catch here!

Excellent photo. It is a little disturbing at first because it almost seems like it is vandalized until you realize that it is gold leaf that the nuns sell for good luck.
