Photographer's Note
The Thale Noi water bird reserve is not just famous for its flying population but also for large herds of water buffaloes as there are plenty of muddy water pools where they love to relax during the hottest hours of the day. Where they are there also are their cleaners, the Eastern Cattle Egrets, which feeds on the insects living on the water buffaloes. In effect these birds are cleaning the skin of the buffaloes.

Hi Urs
I`m sure these `beasties` are enjoying their soak in the muddy water and to have a bird taking away all the `nasties` must feel they are in heaven!!
Maybe a little crop on the top of picture ? could make the picture stronger.
Have a good holiday weekend.
Kind Regards Gladys.

Hell Urs,
Natural symbiosis at work! Good capture of these massive wallowing animals and their cleaners. I like the layered effect and excellent detail.

Hello Urs
Now I know from where the term water buffalo comes from ..
Great scene with all the buffalos in the muddy water and the cranes overseeing the scene. The lush green of the grass speaks of lots of rain in this parts of the world.
have a great weekend

I like so much that animal, I can see directly on their horns they're not or very few mixed with domestic cows
it's a group of Bubalus arnee, they need to take bath at least one time a day and they use mudd to remove the parasites
The light and pov are excellent
Have a nice day
