Photographer's Note
The moment of truth is now. When the khom loy (sky lantern made of paper and propelled to the sky by hot air from the burning fuel) lifts up. The faces say it all.
During the Loy Krathong festival (25th to 26th November... depends on the full moon period), Tha Phae Gate of the old fort city of Chiang Mai is one of the happening place to release the khom loys or watch people doing it.
People will write their wish on the khom loy and release the lantern to fly up to the sky hoping their wish will come true. This couple obviously have love on their mind.

Hi Sam
What a great moment, this is a photo that really makes me smile widely, the expressions on the young couples faces really are superb. These lanterns have become popular in Ireland too, and people release them at celebrations and parties, and even funerals! This is a great moment. If I had one suggestion, I would say to crop the image a little too focus more on the couple and lantern. The depth of field is nicely done to seperate them but the background is still quite busy and a little distracting
Best wishes
Noel

Hello Sam,
although the lady moved fast and is blurred, the scene is very charming and I like it very much. You captured wonderful expressions of happiness and the way they're sharing this experience is great. The role of the light is most effective, it starts from the lamp, bathes the couple and then is diffused in the whole setting. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,
Ourania
