Photographer's Note

Lungshan Temple, Taipei. I don't really know how old this worshipper was, but clearly not young. She clearly could not be more devoted either. Although it looks as though her eyes are closed, she is simply squinting to read the text in front of here. The black robe indicates some position within the temple(it is Taoist), although to be honest I don't know what that position is. Perhaps a nun, although men as well as women wear the black robes.

Although it appears to quite well lit, this was taken at 1/20th on a tripod. With a more active subject, there is no way this could work.
