Down from Sri Pada, a photo from Central, South

It is very rewarding in many ways to climb the holy mountain of Sri Pada (or Adams Peak) in the night. One of your rewards is the view you wil have going down just after sunrise. The seven kilometers (and 900 meter) back to Dalhousie provide numerous views like this.

Hello Gerrit ,
Great view of the succeeding ridges of mountain , with the fine effect of the mist in the valleys . The vegetation in the FG create a good depth .

A breath taking image indeed and I enjoyed this vantage point that you have taken. The contrasting foreground subjects immediately conjured feelings of surprise and awe. Indeed this is the best POV and I like the wide coverage, so much to enjoy down below the valley, the mists and layers of peaks at diff levels and certainly the atmosphere is special such a scenic and tranquil location. A rewarding view, a good combination of subtle light and colors, fine details and the contrast is superb. This image renders a sweeping view, depth and vastness in this wonderful composition. This justifies your arduous trek up there. Great effort well done. I share your feeling as I had the same experience in East Java three years ago climbing up at 0300 in cold morning arriving at 0600 at the edge of volcano crater lake awaiting sun rise, actually no words can describe this till you are up there personally such as this picture.
