MOM'S JOY or Lesson of Courage..., a photo from Western, South

Photographer's Note

I remember I was shocked by this scene on the streets of Negombo... You can see in WS another photo of the moment. The mom is full of joy. I think, it is just a lesson of courage.
But I sure this is not the best idea for similar amusement.
I have read about the work of Juvenile Justice in the North Europa and in the US.
I think, this scene could be very interesting for them.

Priviet Sergei, haha, how funny :). Of course, I am joking. I find it horrifying. Nothing happened, but the result of this joy could be tragic. Stupid mother, but beautiful. Interesting scene found, no doubt.

This is certainly a good photo and a very well spotted situation. Seeing it only as a matter of colours and lines it's quite attractive. Considering what it shows it's awful. I think the person holding the baby is just a child herself, but I think their mother is standing nearby just watching. She must be crazy and could probably have ended up in jai in Europe.

What an incredibly silly woman,the poor child could have easily been harmed,hopefully nothing untoward happened on this occasion.

Interesting candid with the Mother's happiness, but the boy does look more concerned.

Hopefully Mom, has a strong grip and no evil intent.

PS: Yes, we just had the driest year on record in California, and fires are increasing especially where the vegetation is dry instead of being green.

It's almost impossible to see this image and not immediately think of Michael Jacksons baby dangling episode in Berlin...this is plain nuts! I can't imagine this ever being a good idea, for any reason what so ever. Wow, it definitely sparks an emotional response, right? You've taken and presented something that will grip anyone's attention, and regardless of personal feelings, this sure makes for a compelling capture.

I'm really liking the fact that you've been showing unexpected pictures from this travel, I'm waiting in anticipation for the next surprise. :) Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Take good care.

Bothe when it comes to the composition and frame and its timing,which seems to be chosen superbly.

yeah, perhaps not the smartest of ideas! Remember when Michael Jackson held his baby over the balcony with hundreds of screaming fans below...he got alot of negative publicity for that.
same type of thing here i suppose.
good capture on your part, as i'm sure she wasn't doing this for very long, good timing!

Wow, I don't know what to feel looking at this. I don't think its something I would try with my children, but then again they both look to be having fun. A strange sight, but a wonderful observation and moment well captured. Nicely done!

I can't help but gasp upon looking at this scene, it's so unsettling and studying the people's expressions doesn't make me feel any better. What puzzles and worries me is that the mother (or big sister or aunt or whatever) is not even looking at the baby (in the workshop picture too). The baby doesn't seem scared or amused but confused, in my opinion. I hope it didn't last long and that we have to praise you also for your timing. The capture and rendering of this scary scene is excellent. Congratulations and thank you!

A scene so full of joy but surely very dangerous! Seems both of them are enjoying it. I like the way you framed it and the moment, with the little boy looking up to his mother, but if something goes wrong it can be a tragedy for the little one.

really a marvelous moment and you got it perfectly with the beauty of the smile of the mother and the joy of the baby. I guess she was playing only, the boy was so young to learn about the dangers. This made me remember a baby I saw today, he wanted to see his father dealing with furious bulls in a corral, but he kept at distance with screams and menaces. haha.
