Photographer's Note

So here is the St Sophia Cathedral in Novgorod, built in years 1045-1050 by Prince Vladimir, son of Prince Yaroslav the Wise and Ingigerd, daughter of king Olaf Sktkonung of Sweden.
Cathedral is 38-meters high and its the oldest building in Russia and at the same time best preserved building from XI century in Europe, meaning that today it looks almost exactly as it was 900 years ago, as it wasn't rebuild since then.
Several treasuries inside, like a frescoes from XI century (not many of them, pity), ancient icons and early medieval metalwork, Sigtuna Gates, taken by Novgorodians from the former Swedish capital Sigtuna during some raid.
