Photographer's Note
The picture was shot some 20 years ago in the Philippines (first quarter 1994) in the North, near Sagada.
The place was also a former refuge of dictatorship-fleeing intelligentsia. One of the manners of the people is to bury there dead high up along limestone cliffs, since traditionally the spirits of the dead liked to be close to the sky.
I took the picture of that girl from quiet far away and used an B & W ilford film 200 asa
Equipment used:
• Nikon F401
• Sigma 70 – 300 mm
I exhumed some of my files (negatives) and had them scanned.
Given the age of the negatives and conservation, I contrasted, sharpened the picture.
