This is a picture of an old fisherman and his son coming back to Calayo village when the sun was already up. They must have been fishing the whole night. He spread out his net for cleaning by his son, partly shown removing water from the boat. The people of the village are poor. They still fish the ?old way? using small boats. The can not go far out to sea with this type of boat. If they are lucky to get a lot of fish, then they do not have to go fishing the next night. They will earn enough to last them for two days. That is the life of the fishermen in this village. That is why the parents in the village make sure their kids get an education as the small independent fishermen like these are a vanishing breed.
