Photographer's Note
I was surprised when I got there as never before anybody saluted me... playing war or just another method of welcoming a guest? I'm afraid it was the first thing.

Hello Adam,
This is a really well composed and a great capture of a special moment. I like the overexposed hands and the contrasting emotions and brightness of the two children very much. Maybe slightly too grainy or soft - but I don't think sharpness matters that much. The main bit is the compo - and you've managed that well. TFS.

Hi Adam,
I actually like the grain and softness of the picture in B&W, it gives a nostalgic feeling of yesteryears war photojournalism picture. TFS!

Holy smokes...what a commentary. This photograph says a lot of things...and I'm not sure how long it would take me to understand the things it is telling me.
Great Job.

I just saw this picture and also read the comments on it and thought to add some words.First of nice picture with lovely faces on it. I do not know what meaning the people can extract from this picture, but it happens also some time in my land, when a outsider comes to a village and small childrens who do not know this man, and wanted to say hello to him, this action is their ultimate responce..and it shows greet respect to outsider visiting there place. these emotions have nothing to do with the dirty politics of their country of world, there innocent minds are not young enough to understand the politics, all they know is to welcome everybody with smile and respect !
cheers
Qureshi
