Photographer's Note
Turning my attention back to Myanmar.
Everything moves at a slow pace, the trains, buying tickets. often the ticket is written out in long-hand and then duplicated. These passengers queue patiently to buy a train ticket.
Despite the recent modernisation in Burma, I love to see how so many people are still wearing the traditional longyi.

Hello Elaine,
When I visited Burma in the early 1970's I had a feeling of stepping back into the 1930's or -40's. Maybe they have now caught up with the 80's. The slow pace was no doubt one reason for the gentle atmosphere I found, apart from the general friendliness of most people, but maybe the traditional clothes also meant something for the atmosphere. It is rather amazing that this photo was taken in 2020.
Regards,
Gert

Hi Elaine,
You have captured well the persons waiting in line in front of counter. The point of view is showing the details of the interior of the train station. The surrounding light has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice dya.

Goedemiddag Elaine,
John.

Hello Elaine,
This is almost like a step back into the past!
The people are mostly traditionally dressed and are patiently waiting in line. There appears to be no frustration that the wait is lengthy; it is expected and accepted.
This must have been taken just before lockdown around the world.
Did you have trouble returning home?
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Elaine, opened in the enlarged version, we can view all the people much more clearly.
They wait patiently, and it is interesting to see the traditional dress of the longyi.
Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hello Elaine,
Like Gert, when I visited Victoria Point in southern Burma from Ranong in Thailand, it was like stepping back in time to the 1940'! A good daily life scene of the people queued. Tfs!

Hi Elaine
Lots to look at this quite orderly and a patient queue highlighting some of local way of life. The two faces looking towards the camera connect and engage with the viewer
Excellent candid.
Best regards
