Photographer's Note
I make this re-posting because I made a version I am more happy with, and this is also the pic I showed on an exhibition in my hometown together with the cameraclub I'm part of... I feel this version adds more power to the image.
I made it BW, toned it in duotone and used USM.

This is a great shot. Wonderfull symmetry in the splayed limbs of the lizards. Are they skinks or geckos? The cracked earth is a very effective non-distracting background. How about "Kiss kiss" as an alternative title to "Untitled"?

This is terrific. Wonderful symmetry and texture. Great use of B&W.

I like this better than the original. It is certainly more arresting - the contrast and the camouflaging stop you in your tracks and have a second look. It has some abstract quality too! Very well seen and post processed!
By the way, have a look at this ... isn't nature wonderful?

Wow! You attended an unusual ceremony - a lizard meeting - and you captured a fine moment. Excelent symmetry as Bruce mentioned, good placement of the lizards in the diagonal line of the photo. Very good details of the dry, cracked earth. I think I like more the original - maybe because of the blue, gray spots on the lizards bodies that matches the grey tones of the earth. Very Good job, though!

This is good! It is amazing how their "feet" and the cracks look quite similar. Interesting subject, very unusual, abstract almost... I hope you don't mind Terje, I posted a workshop for you. Your picture is already top-notch, I just tried to bring out the black cracks and the "things" :-)

Nice shapes, it's almost like they´re posing making up such a clean and beautiful pattern. The background is perfect for this picture, it's texture is really nice, the cracks resemble the toes of the lizards.

I LOVE this!!!! This has just become my absolute hands down favorite picture on this site!!! There is NOTHING I don't like about this, however, here are a few of the thngs I do like: most obviously is the compostion, you have perfectly framed the beasts to give an extremly graphic effect; The toning leaves the texture of the picture resonating with life; There is NO negatve space, ie every square millimetre of the frame is eye pleasing. This is the kind of photography I aspire to, not just in a wildlfe sense, but capturing of a fleeting, and rarely noticed moment. I wish I could give this more than 2 points.
ps I also REALLY like edwins ws!!

Grande foto. Você conseguiu uma simetria muito interessante. Só faltava o outro "calango" enrolar o rabo também. :)
Parabéns.

:-) I think that a title like "kissing" or "rivalry" could do - depends on the mood when one looks at it.. Excellent shot Terje! Seems you did the perfect job by the changes you have made!

I love this image, both the POV and the composition that gives us an almost graphical image with the black lizards against the crackled...wall?, floor? I like your choice of BW and the sepia like quality of the image. Very well done Terje.

I can't decide if I like the color better in the original or in this one. I think they have different moods, and each has its merits.
I'm generally against altering photos, but in this case I'm glad you got rid of the fly!
How in the world did you get them to pose?? Did you use a tripod, or were you standing?
Great!

Oh too bad I never comment on this excellent capture even I seen it several times before - very very fine composition and main motif - the background excellent as well - How about "Dark kiss" - a favorite.

Looked at the original and found a lovely shot caught between two worlds. Even the contrasting comments reflected the viewers' desire to bring the work over to either the Abstract or Nature side of the fence. Here I see the author as having decided for us. You've made the changes necessary to perfect this as an abstract shot. Beautifully seen, captured and produced. I love it.

I agree with all those who think this is great - it is such a beautifully arranged composition - texture, contrast, subject interest - the fantastic S shape running through the image across the diagonal - unusual and a real winning combination.
