Photographer's Note
A lucky shot but just as I had hoped when I saw the boat coming. Shot taken at a coastal village of Kebun Baru (meaning New Orchard) near my hometown. It is a village of about 300 houses surrounded by oil palm plantations, canals, and mangrove forest. A great place to be if you enjoy fishing ... in salt water, and fresh water in canal system.
Photo taken at the estuary of Sungai Kerian (Kerian River). The boat is speeding out to sea while the man is casting out his net for fresh fish for the day. This river is also known to have a lot of prawns (shrimps). At the village of Kebun Baru this river separates the northern Malaysian state of Perak & Pulau Pinang. Mangrove forest & swamps lined the banks. They are an important breeding ground for fishes, crabs, prawns and other marine animals, essential for sustaining a viable fishing industry. About 50% of fish landings on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia are associated with mangroves.

Salam Latiff,
sorry lambat reply. The fact that I have to spend my Aidil Adzhar here in UK is quite sad, but that the only opportunity I got.
The weather here is not very cooperative too. But its OK. Yeah, youre right I almost forget about the effect of weather etc. I thought I was in Malaysia, just simply get out of the house and click.
I did not even notice it until you said so.
I like this jala man, well taken in good view. The moment of throwing the net is well waited too.
The light hit the man's face and this is exciting snd meaningful.
I wont be long here, the cold and wind is quite severe.
Regards,
Foozi

Hi Latiff
Excellent action shot of a fisherman! Congrats! Moreover you used the backlight to put more drama into the shot, in particular to illuminate fisherman. High sharpness and fine color hues. Well done

hey Latiff
You suddenly post a photo of Malaysia when your Germany trip has not ended? I thought it must be a young tattoo girl or something to cause such a break.
So you went back to hometown and steal a kiss with your childhood girlfriend or something? What's up?
I think this is very good catch of the net thrown on the water. 1/1250s is simply great for this one.

Hello Latiff,
you had a great timing in the capture of this interestig moment, with the man fishing in the water and the boat passing.
Congratulations and TFS.

Hello Latiff,
Perfect timing, the powerboat in the distance and the fisherman casting his net have been captured perfectly. It is somewhat reminiscent of a lucky shot I had in Scotland, when I captured a fly fisherman. Please, don't worry about critiquing it, but simply ruminating over the the different techniques people have developed for an age old activity, viz. fishing.
Warm regards,
Bulent
