Photographer's Note

She was not as young as she used to be but she can still walk and her hearing and eyesight are still good. She lives in the slums in the outskirt of the city, somewhere forgotten by most affluent city folks. I happen to be there while waiting for my car to be repaired. Gingerly with utmost care and balance she crosses a tiny plank that span a small trench. She had to be careful the grounds are undulating and littered with rubbish. When she got close I asked her where she was going. She replied saying she was going to visit a friend. When you are old and with barely enough a friend is valuable. Her friend perhaps helps keep the loneliness away.
