Photographer's Note
To:TE friends I got many warm regards, I have to say thank you very much. I and my family are OK fortunately(last night I cannot help staying at my office). However, the north areas(I often went there for shooting) are heavily damaged. Now "aftershocks" still continue, the fires ocuur at many palce and some atomic power stations seems to be out of order.
According to the latest information, the number of victim are now around 1200 but I am quite sure the actual number should be far more. We,Japanese, have to face and confront this unprecedented disaster by all means.
------------------------------------------------
Today I hesiated but finaly decided to post this shot.
This is from "naked odd festival". At this festival, all audiences and participants hang this red small clothes at the specific palces in order to make their hope realize. At this moment, "hope" is only one.

Kia Ora, I show solidarity to you here from New Zealand, both tiny nations, both affected deeply by mother nature at
it's worst in recent weeks - Japans quake was 1000 times stronger and had the resulting tsnuami yet both sets of communities were deeply affected in both quakes.
I know your search and rescue team left New Zealand this weekend and now faces the grim task of yet another recovery phase, you will grow back stronger, as humans its what we know best, its what we should do - Hope of miracles are what drives us on in life.
All the strength to your people and country. Jim

I'm glad to know that you and your family are okay.
Wish you all the luck and courage to go through these difficult moments.

Hello Dear Takero,
The world has been hanging onto each word from journalists reporting the earthquake and tsunami, and the aftershocks. I am very happy to know that you and your family are alright, and indeed to receive a report from someone I consider a new but already good friend who has experienced the unspeakable tragedy at first hand. The Japanese are known worldwide for their courage and resilience. I have no doubt that as a nation, Japan will bounce back stronger than ever.
I want you to know that all of your many friends at Trekearth wish you and your countrymen continued courage and strength. You have our sympathies and warm wishes.

Dear Takero, we are all very sad about the tragedy that has befallen your beautiful country. I watched in absolute disbelief those cruel waves swallow everything in their path. Now we are anxious about the nuclear reactors. May the gods spare your people the horrors of nuclear fallout, something that your nation is familiar with from the second world war.Our prayers are with you all. Regards. Klaudio.

Hello dear Takero,
I am happy that you and your family are healthy and safe after this terrible catastrophe which we followed on line on television, terrifying moments. All my thoughts go, obviously, with the victims and the families of the victims but also with the Japanese people in its entirety. One will need much courage to overcome the effects of this terrible day. But as you show it by this photograph, the Hope makes live.
All my friendships Takero and with soon,

Hi Takero,
HOPE ribbons are very appropriate for the present situations in Japan.
The big problem now seems to be the nuclear danger. The whole world is concerned by this, as every country could be confronted to this with their nuclear power stations.
Our ways of life seem to be so erratic. We all want great comfort, but the price to pay can be very heavy.
Best wishes nevertheless.
Kindest regards.
Marie-Louise.
