Photographer's Note
I wanted to see if it was possible to retrieve the shadow details in an underexposed image. Although the details are now much better, it is a little grainy in places, notably the shadow areas. I may upload the original as a workshop if anyone wants to play.
Taken at Tōdai-ji (東大寺) in the old part of Nara. From Wikitravel on Tōdai-ji:
"Home to the famous Daibutsu (大仏), the largest Buddha statue in Japan and one of the largest in the world. The Daibutsu-den, which houses it, is said to be the largest wooden building in the world and is a UNESCO World Heritage site."

Hi Chris
despite the grainy areas I really like this shot! Your POV is wonderful and the overall effect is more like dust in the air and does not detract from the effect and clarity of the image. It gives an almost soft focus to the image which is more befitting the atmosphere of the shot.
Regards - Brian.

Hi Chris,
The walls are framing well the statue. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the Buddha statue. Comparing the workshop photo and this one, you did good post-processing work which is making the colors to stand out. Have a nice day.

Ciao dear Chris,
I have seen the original raw file in the Ws and I must say that you have done a great work in PP. Interesting image of this huge Buddha, a picture characterized by the good sharpness and a good choice of the POV that emphasizes the majesty of the statue. Congratulations!
Ciao, have a nice May!

Hi Chris
Wow, what a great POV and I really like the tight framing. You were able to regain the BG details superbly. The little bit of noise (a natural consequence) does not harm the image to any great extent. When I get to a computer with PS on it, I'll have a go, but I realy think you've done a great job in PP and doubt I can better it.
Cheers

Chris
Au format TE, le bruit ne se remarque pas trop et on est surtout attiré par la beauté de la statue et les bouddhas dorés en arrière plan. Très bon cadrage.

Namste Chris
You retrived a good amount of details from a totally UE picture! Is it so dark inside the temple? Like the workmanship on the wooden temple walls which we can see in the BG. Well done with your low POV

Angshu
