Photographer's Note
Todajji's main temple building, the Daibutsuden (Great Buddha Hall), is said to be the largest wooden building in the world. This is especially impressive in light of the fact that the present reconstruction (from 1692) is only two thirds of the original temple's size.
The original complex also contained two 100-meter-high pagodas, probably the tallest buildings in the world at the time, but these were destroyed by earthquake.
Todaiji is famous for housing Japan's largest Buddha statue. It depicts the Buddha Vairocana and, like the one at Kamakura, is commonly known as the Daibutsu (Great Buddha). The Daibutsu is made of copper and bronze, weighs 250 tons and stands 30 meters tall.

Hello Klaudio,
I prefer this pov to the one in your previous post. Sky isn't the best, but the green grass and autumn leaves are good. It gives a good feel of the place.

Hello Klaudio, this is certainly an impressive building, made even more so as it is timber made.
Your presentation is good, with the temple just off centre and the golden autumn leaves holding the picture in well on the RH side.
Best wishes
Les.

Hello Klaudio,
I guess you chose the right position to get all of the world's largest wooden building, and some of its surroundings, in one picture. Certainly a bit postcardish, but one that I would be satisfied to send home. It's a very impressive building, even without the tow tall pagodas, and the weather was quite favourable for the colours.
Kind regards,
Gert

Salam Klaudio
Its nicely balanced and perfectly composed image, tucked in a beautiful suurrounding in slightly overcast morning. This temple is so majestic dominating much on the space, which makes perfect sense as it's the main interest. Your viewpoint intensify the perspective and depth greatly, and fine clarity which has given more definition to the building with lovely forms of lines, shapes and textures all clearly seen. Touch of autumn colors is still evidence in the backdrop as well as the tree on bottom RH corner to complement the composition. Presence of human activity provides good scale reference as to the enormous size of this temple as well as giving a sense of link to this lively temple. Extremely well done, excellent use of colours, I feel that the three basic colors blend nicely, and exposure all come together just perfectly. Great effort and thanks to your informative notes. Congrats
Warm regards, Salam

Pozdrav prijatelju.

How do you do?
You have been to Japan. with your permission, I would like to comment on the image.
Yes it is the largest wooden structure in the world. And the statue contained inside is also the largest in Japan. The statue inside was originally plated in gold . I mentioned the word "plated". It was done with mercury.I imagine that many worker died of the poisoning.
I have only been to the site once myself. Your photo has framed the structure very comfortably. Including the sounding is also successful, away from the tourists, you had chosen a very nice view point. Congratulation !
Very best regards,
Nobu.
