More Balinese ladies. I liked this part of the temple. All the time there were sitting some ladies with their baskets.

Built in 1633, the temple is used for offerings and ceremonies dedicated to the Balinese water, lake and river goddess Dewi Danu, due to the importance of Lake Bratan as a main source of irrigation in central Bali. The 11-storey pelinggih meru in the complex is dedicated to Shiva and his consort Parvathi. Buddha's statue is also enshrined in this temple. This temple is also called the "Bali temple on the Lake" because it looks as if it is floating when the Bratan River rises.

I will upload two Workshops with the scenes from the same place.
In WS1, you can see FIVE ladies rather bored or tired. But then they saw an old lady with a camera and ...
In WS 2, Another three scenes.

Look at the shirts of the women. Maybe I imagine things but it seems the shape mimics the shape of the entrance gate (on the right side).

Very nice photos although they are all very similar. The ladies are nicely dressed and the baskets are beautifully made, not to mention what we see of the temples in the background. It was good for you that by this time the pandemic had probably already scared away most tourists. ;-)

Hello Malgo,

When you are seated, waiting, at a place with which you are familiar, it must be difficult to look animated!
The w/s are very similar to the main shot, which I like very much, with the converging lines of the roof, seeming to guide us inwards towards the ladies.

Hello Malgo, there is a nice symmetry about this picture with the shape of the roof and the paving on the ground.
Interesting that all three ladies are holding mobile phones.
Are they just sitting in the shade? They aren't selling anything?
Your picture looks great in the large version.

A good photo of these ladies sitting with their baskets in the foreground underneath the wooden canopy and its wonderful carvings. The temple complex makes a good backdrop also.

Great set, Lovely collection of the ladies' expressions! Wonderful relaxing & casual manner and lovely hand weaved baskets that attract the eye as well - making things with our hands seems to be more and more of a dying art nowadays. Now this place, one smile from you is enough to get you by and for them it will be something to talk about long after you leave! I like this type of real life photography. Excellent

Excellent sharpness with good warm cold colour contrasts between the tan and blues tones. The bg Balinese temples provide a nice backdrop. I went to Bratan Temple. The ladies have set up an impromptu outdoor market for the incoming tourists. Tfs!
