Photographer's Note
I took this photograph at the village of Kusamba, which is located at east of Bali, near the bat cave temple and near the region Candi Dasa, Bali. This village is well-knowned as a fisherman village and also the village of salt farmer.
In the photo, you could see that the salt farmer, was watering the ground (the sand on the beach) with sea-water. This is the first step. After that, he will put the sand in a special tool inside his hut and wash it with the sea water, until it produces a salty liquid. And then, he will put it (the salty liquid) outside, under the sun-light, to dry it and.. that's how the salt came from..
I have to lay on the ground in order to be able to take this shot in low angle.
This time, I posting a different kind of photo. I mixed between the colour photo and B&W..
I hope you like it.
PEACE !

Wow - very striking and dramatic image with much to catch the eye.
Beautifully composed with the farmer dominating the left side with the eye then being led to his hut.
I don't generally like the colour/bw mix but this is a super exception. Well done!

I think I prefer b&w but this photo is clearer than your previous one - it's evident that he is sprinkling the water on the ground.
Thanks for sharing

Hello Yoga,
Beautiful image. The composition is great, and the desaturation, in this case, is a real plus for the picture.
Best regards, Laurent.

Hi,
Very powerful picture and good idea to desaturate the whole background. It's more symbolic and graphical.

a great pov and beautifully composed.. very dynamic... really too bad for the blackened face, it bothers me quite a bit... and why the partial saturation? b&w would have been my choice but even the colour version is better here imo...

Brilliant colours of man opposed to b/w surrounding.
Just small remark. I think you should clone out this small white rectangle in the middle (sign ?) . Eye simply slip from man to that spot.

Sorry Yoga to be harsh but I don't think the PP technique works at all for this. You're in danger of spoiling a very good series of EXCELLENT pics over the last few days with this that just looks gimmicky and fake. The difference for me between yesterday's photo and today's is a million miles. a point for the experiment though...I just don't like the result
Cheers

Bonsoir Yoga,
Très belle mise en scène de cet homme en couleurs sur fond N&B, belle profondeur de champ, un ciel nuageux magnifique.
Amicalement,
Stéphanie.

Fantastic shot. Good Idea put him in colors and his place of work in B&W. The POV is fabulous.

Mas Yoga, I would really appreciate if you could provide an alter image of this beautiful photography, I would like to see it in colours, is it possible?

Oh man,
Mark has a point..why partial saturation? The face? With so much goinf for this photo, what a small detail. The POV is just so good, the subject is even better. One of your best in terms of dramatic, "punch you in your face" shots. I mean, by far my favorite thing here is the salt falling out of the baskets and the sharpness and detail and light on it.

bye,

Hi Yoga,
Your series on the salt farmer is simply fascinating. Excellent low POV. The partial desaturation has worked wonders here. Perfect finishing.

Art! Excellent composition and post pro work. Colour against B&W works perfectly here, and you´ve made it look natural. Excellent light, angle and details. Impressive.

Hi Yoga
Its an awesome shot you've taken. love the angle (thanks for giving us an idea). The colour isolation also helps to get the subject easier. Again, well done!
