Photographer's Note
Re-posted, new scanner, rotate, levels, colour balance, sharpness - all better I think.
The guy in the boat is twisting his pole in the water weeds and pulling them into the boat, to be used as material to add to the floating gardens that vegetables are grown in on the lake.

Hi Steve,
Don't no which scanner you've got, but you did truly a great job here. I know how hard these Velvia slides are to scan. But look at this, so much detail, so many rich colours....who said film was dead, not me..!!!
Lovely photo, great eye and pp work...no luck, you really know what you are doing...great piece of work.

Superb colours, I live its mild shades, peacefulness. I love the images from Kashmir. This valley seems like a paradise with flowers and floating houses...

Hello Steve,
Well, what a difference! You've done a very good job this time. The colours are excellent, looking very soft and very natural. The composition was good as it was, with the guy in red in the front and the cropping that leaves the sky out, but the nuances and details have certainly been taken much better care of now.
Well done,
Gert

Hello Steve
A preferable scan with the colours truer to life and the sharpness revealing more details. Thanks for the repost, Marlene

Hi Stephen,
This shot is simply sublime, I really like the calming greens and blues and there is just such a wonderful light especially illuminating the boats in the background as well as the person paddling their small boat, which is a great inclusion in the shot. Very nice and great quality scan!

Hi Stephen, glad to have come across this shot.
The RP is a vast improvement - the increase in sharpness is astounding. Great colours.
Why is it that some of the most beautiful parts of the world are also trouble hotspots !

Bonsoir Stephen
Oh oui, bien meilleure que la version originale...pas de doute.
ici, tu dois être très proche des couleurs naturelles, et le vêtement rouge du personnage est bienvenu pour habiller (si je puis dire) la partie importante de l'eau.

Impressive work. But of course, without a good composition, it will just look pretty with no substance.

Hi Steve.
Absolutely superb shot. Everything about it is brilliant. Great scanning job for a start. I love the placement of the boat and bloke for a start; nice of him to wear that red shirt, which makes a great combo with the blues and greens. Lovely light caught on the village boat-houses, and gentle hazy mountains in the background.

Andrew

Beautiful shot Stephen
Looks so peacefull and quiet.
Are these houseboats in the background? I remember one of the Michael Palin travel series, where he visited houseboats on a lake in Kashmir, I wonder if this is it.
