Photographer's Note
"Samu" means group. This is a group marriage. There were 25 planned weddings that day, though I was informed that many more are likely to show up on the day. I was also informed that if individuals do not turn up, others are ready and waiting to take their place.
The brides are those wearing red with their heads covered. Grooms in the more elaborate outfits, wearing red headwear.
Another view in the workshop for your reference.

Hello Kajal! This is a beautiful scene and you get the impression that you are right in the middle of it, taking part and sharing this special moment. I like the warm and natural colors of your photo. Take care, Barbara.

Hi Kaj,
Somtimes I wonder why people don't dress in bright colors in Europe. Not only it would make cool photos, but also it makes me happy.
Looking at your photo is like looking at a box of crayons: makes me want to draw/take photos.
It's a bit chaotic, but that it's what it's really like, and the woman in the forground sort of settles the scene.
Nice one!

Hi Kaj. This one is good, but I think it misses just a little. The colors are great, as are the masses of people. I have to admit though that I don't like the blown out sky at all; it draws my eyes away from what is important. I love the woman in the bottom right and I can't help but wish that you had composed a little lower so as to avoid the sky as well as maybe featuring her just a little more. The colors on the bottom 3/4s of the shot are just great once again.

looks like the overall lighting conditions were not in your favor here. may have tricked the white balance renditions too, thus the rather overbearing reddish hue (perhaps a red tarp too?)... wonder if it could be corrected a bit more in ps... a nice crowd shot though, perhaps just a half step to the right and/or a bit higher pov to include more of the lady who seems to be somewhat in the center of attention... (of course i know things happen fast at such events)
you back in the uk now?

Namaskar Kajal,
excellent use of wideangle and good management of the light (not easy here). Do you use evaluative exp with wideangle?
Your notes are always interesting.
A smile

A very interesting post with natural expressions on the faces of everyone, it seems as if they were totally accepting you as part of them, and the note is interesting to read.
Beautiful colours too,
Bravo !

I think this is a really good attempt Kaj - I wish you had the 5d in your hands rather than the 350 - what you could do with it! I played around with the image for a while selectively dodging areas and trying different crops but unlike darren i was less bothered by the sky...which atmospherically can be just like that sometimes in Ahmedabad - and more by the dark mass which reveals itself to be another woman bottom left......your ensemble composition is stunning and would have jst been so much better if she had been better rendered or more recognisable....the woman lower left is perfectly placed ........this is pure sohrab territory.....
best wishes Kev

I don't know about the color cast but the framing and composituion are great here. It seems a bit saturated to me but it could be the monitor,
Great Job.
