Photographer's Note
Narmadaben's children are extremely responsible. She has two sons and a daughter, whom will sort the rags which are collected daily...
I have a few versions of this scene - I thought the workshop version might be more "popular", but there is something I like about the colour of the boy in the top right... your opinions are much appreciated.
I am sooo very sorry about the lack of critiques lately. Leaving Ahmedabad very soon, so there are lots of loose ends to be tied up...

Hi, Kajal.
I like the scene and the mood you obtained beceause of unerexposition. Interesting picture, and your exposition is good for my taste.
Best regards. Grazyna.

The light falling on the childs back and the split image of light and shade make this a worhtwhile addition to your collection

Kajal..
The lighting seems so perfect, ideal, which helps reflect the soul of your subject..
After seeing so many frames of NARMADABEN'S
life, why do you feel so sorry about the lack of critiques..?
What you have done is an admirable project..
Congrats..

Kaj,
Really like the way the frame is splt between light and dark. It makes for a wonderfully atmospheric shot. I completely agree the boy in the shadow makes this shot. Couldn't find the other version in the workshop though!
Cheers
Peter

I think I prefer the workshop by a touch, but they are both great shots and both deserve to be uploaded to TE as individual images. A nice play of light showing the two kids doing their work, the darkness clearly showing the dirty conditions.

Hi Kajal
What a capture of daily life. Great documentary style image. What use of light. Good pov just observing the scene. Interesting work.

Another one of those frames that cry out for distinction. So simple yet so rich in visual elements--body postures, balance of elements across the frame, color distribution--and projection of a story line. Bravo!
