Photographer's Note
The ladies will stop at regular intervals for chai. I forgot my wallet in my rush to meet them...That and I was half asleep! They kindly bought my share...(several times!)
These women leave the tekra at 5:00am to reach CG Road (a shopping district) at 5:30am to collect rags - many of them will work until 4:00pm, whilst others will leave at noon to attend to household duties. They will collect anything from newspaper, cardboard and polythene water pouches.
This lady was embarrassed to have her picture taken because she chews gutka (tobacco) and her teeth are in a very bad way... a real shame...she is quite stunning.

Charming little study Kaj, I especially like the way you have included the two men in the background. The dappled shade is used to good effect, so too the DOF. Best regards, Roberto (ps can't believe you've never been to Brighton!)

Here the backgrouns tells a thousand stories. A nice change from your otherwise excellent close portraits, Kaj. here you composed cleverly using the entire frame. I like the layers - next stop, the old man half way up, then those monochromatic stairs. A full, complete experience, superbly creafted,
Best,
Francis

Beautiful image Kajal, and tells a great story as she covers her face with that beautiful coloured cloth with the man looking from behind.

Terrific shot Kaj, you are doing some great portraiture. Wonderful light on the woman and really pleasing colors all around. The guy in the background adds a lot of depth to the shot for me too. The top right corner is a little messy, as the hard light doesn't fit with the rest of the scene, but this is a very nice photo overall.

Kajal: she's getting some amusment from your intrusion. I appreciate your approach to South Asian images - a little divergent from most of the uploads here on TE. regards, c

Kajal,
Another fascinating portrait the light again is superb. I like the depth with the man in the background. I agree with Darren about the top right hand corner and i tried a workshop. I like the vertical frame but i just cropped it to a square to try and get rid of the TRHC.
Cheers
Peter
