I had an honour of staying with this gujjar family on my last trek in the Kullu district of the Himalayas.

STORY: I was on a trek in the Kullu district of the Himalays when it started raining very hard and I was very lucky to find this gujjar family that was very kind not only to give me shelter in thier hut but they also cooked some excellent organic delicacies for me and gave me fresh milk. I took many portrait photos of this family that I intend to post to the address that they provided.

I found the girl in this photo as most photogenic in the family and I was so very overwhelmed by the hospitality that this gujjar family showered upon me.

Hi Sarju
most refreshing to see this natural colored shot in the dark, a real photographic TE-shot respecting a discrete PP and a very fine portrait of the children of this family. A slight pointing downwards had included the second eye of the girl left but not really necesairy.
A fine photo with a lot of atmosphere.

Ihave missed your photos and the news of your travelling since I was in Ethiopia. I hope you are enjoying yourself there. I myself was thinking of going to India around Christmass but I am not sure if I wont do Egypt instead.

Very beautiful portrait, Sarju. The strength of this photo (and your accompanying note) is that it draws me in empathically, human-to-human. Her face is so sweet and the story you told is really a rewarding example of how generous people can be. The level of light and the colors here work well together. Very moving.
