Photographer's Note
This photo was taken while camping in the Suru Vally, Kashmir, India in the early hours of the morning.
There was a big mountain on the left side so no sunlight was coming in but the mountain in front was aglow with lots of changing colours. It was a magical moment.
Critiques would be welcome
Thank You

a nice landscape Sarju..
I still fondly remember the Kargil area, I stayed there in 1984..
on my way to Ladakh.. I wish I could go there and do a trek in the summer. Such an unspoiled nature with very nice people.

The light on the slopes is wonderful and you have great bands of colour from the blue sky, clouds and the darker summits.

Hi Sarju,
An impressive shot. The high contrast is interesting because it is broken by the clear water and reflections in the foreground and you have captured the situation perfectly. Great shot! Thanks and best wishes.

hi sarju,
very good landscape which you have shot with nice adjustment in contrast and colour but i would have preferred to crop the image a bit from the right as you can very well notice a grey border line to the left which indicates that the cropping has not been done properly.leaving this defect,i liked your composition and POV.well done.
regards,
ravish.

beautiful landscapa Sarju, the mountain looks stunning, very nice reflection too
it maybe difficult to meter the exposure of different contrast, as some part of the mountain got the light and some under the shadow. the cente of the mountain looks a little bit over exposed

Well done Sarju.
I like very much the broken reflexion contrasting with the dark patch.
It is a beautiful way to begin a day and a journey.
The mountain is excellently lighted but it is the foregroung that i like the most

I like the broken reflection in this one as it really lifts the composition.

Hi Sarju,
What dramatic lighting, I love the effect of the light on the mountain while the valley is still in darkness. There is a real sense of isolation and peacefulness in this vast place.

Very effective, Sarju. I like the contrasts here and the foreground pools of water. The rugged mountain is very well displayed, though slightly blurred. The folds of the mountain are awesome and I like your sky treatment. Very well done.

Wow, Sarju, very nice point of view..and view! I am so curious about the Hymalayan mountains..and I so would like to go there one day! I hope I can realize my dream at some stage..I really like the dark foreground here with the reflection of the mountain which is nearly golden shining! Well done!
Best wishes, Léonie

Hi Sarju,
It's dificult to choose among the wonderful shots of you beautiful gallery.
This one has a special and magical light, as you say in your note. The bright reflections in the water are just amazing and the dark foreground contrasting with that sunny mountain in the back is just marvellous.
It's one of the wonders of camping in places like this one. We can enjoy best the nature and sunrises are usually magical moments. Very well captured,
Thanks,
Best regards,
Ricardo
p.s. - I never thanked you, about the critic you made at my shot of Capadocia. You requested a note about the rock formations and I never did it. I don't really have a very technical explanation. What I read about is that about 60 millions years ago, when the Taurus mountain range formed, a strong vulcanic activity took place. Hundreds of vulcanos made a sea of ashes with many metres deep. These ashes were slowly turned into stone and then sculpted by wind and rain to what we see today.

I love the patches of light and the reflections in the puddles (?) I love the way the foreground it dark and really draws your eyes to the center. Very nice... What time of day was it?
