Photographer's Note
Constructed by Mughal emperor Akbar beginning in 1570, the town of Fatehpur Sikri served as the Mughal Empire's capital from 1571 until 1585. Though the court took 15 years to build, it was abandoned after only 14 years.
Today the well preserved palaces, mosques and courts are inhabited primarily by tourists and those making a living from them.

Hi Steve. absolutely love this shot so full of local colour, masterly use of light and excellent sharpness which allows me to appreciate all the textures ranging from the cotton material to the metal armature on the doors.Wonderful light on the folk, particularly on the fellow on the left. His face could well belong to an Aboriginal elder.Best wishes. Klaudio.

An awsome light to depict the architecture and the carved door and the persons seated on the flooe. only one woman noticed you. Out of time picture.

Hi Steve.
Superb scan of this very mellow photo. I can't believe the excellence of the soft subtle colours and contrast. The carved door makes a great feature, and so does the turned head of the squatting figure. I like the light playing gently on the floor, and the whole atmosphere of this one. I'd nominate it as one of your best. Magnificent.

Andrew

Hi Steve
The light in this image is superb as it beams on to the 4 central characters. The detail of the wall and the door covered in horseshoes provide a most interesting background. I am wondering if you scanned this from a negative or slide and what type of scanner you used? Excellent job. A favourite. Cheers, Marlene

Good captured place and environment.
Soft colors and perfect sharpness and clarity.
Very well done, TFS.

Hi Steve
What a great place to hang out and shoot the breeze. I personally could think of better places to do it (preferrably with an ice cold beer in hand) but whatever floats your boat. The lighting here is fantastic, as is the slight UE. And I love the look that lady on the right is giving you. What a capture, great shot.
Have a good week, happy Monday to you

Hello Steve,
The magnificent door and the dark colours give this place a strange and beautiful atmosphere. The group to the left seem absorbed by their discussion, only the woman sitting alone to the right has dicovered you. People's dresses and the locality make this picture look a lot older than only 20 years.

Gert
