On the Rajdhani Express from Delhi to Mumbai, a young bride sat across from me in 2nd Class A/C. It was late afternoon as the sun was setting on the opposite side of the train, the reflected light off the buildings of the village we were passing through lit her in a remarkable way. I had been taking some photographs out the window when, for some reason, she turned to look at me. With the camera on my lap already aimed at her, I fired off one shot. This is it...

Hi Cameron. Taking your accompanying comments as being true, then i must say that this is a stunning shot as this young woman holds you(and you through us) in a mesmerized state while her one penetrating eye bores into our Self. I presume that you have darkened the background and the shadows significantly. Or should I say Cameron has...(a la your 3rd person intro.)Regards. Klaudio.

Hello Cameron - A good enigmatic portrait with lovely detail in the fabric and bracelets. I love the way the bride's eye is peeping out at you. The light is very good adding to the mysterious feel. Best regards Rosemary

It's an stunning portrait indeed! without you're story I would think that it has been shot in studio! Well composed with great quality and sharpness. I like her look alot. And her brilliant red sary in front of black BG.

This is magic. Everything is just perfect, including the partially visible "bindi" on her forehead, which I believe is the beauty spot.

Hi,
Stunning! I would be hard to get as good as this under controlled conditions so to capture this on a train is remarkable. Just showing part of her face and the detail on her bangles and the colour of the sari disappearing into the black background all come together to make an extraordinary composition.

Shot with your camera on your lap!? That's one magical lap shot, then, Cameron. This is really superb. I can't imagine any of the shots that you took from out of the window to be better! Superb contrast and light. Absolutely amazing piece of work!

You have a fine gallery of portraits, but, for me, this is the finest thus far. The opportunity (well taken) and the light and the colour. It is a remarkable candid portrait. The colour is excellent too.

I love how a part of the woman is going out of the shadow, and standing out out of the blackbackground,in a superbly managed light,that is emphasized by the colors of the sari and the banggles.I also love the pose of the woman ,and the way you have framed her.Wonderful picture!
