Photographer's Note
Visiting the Taj Mahal is a wonderful experience although full of tourists. In order to compose a creative image I waited until there were just these two ladies in the picture who were having an intense conversation with their backs to one of the most beautiful buildings in the world. I have cropped to give the geometry that I wanted.
The Taj Mahal is in Agra and a mausoleoum built by Shah Jahan, a mogul emperor, for his wife. This world heritage site is certainly a 'must do' when visiting India and walking around barefoot (shoes must be removed or covered up)on the hot marble surfaces is a wonderful and priveleged feeling. We travelled by train from Delhi (just a few hours)very comfortably and observed life beside and on the railway tracks! There is a fine hotel nearby that overlooks the Taj Mahal an seeing it rise out of the mist in the morning light is truley magical. The day we were there was the day that the Mumbai bombings happened at the Taj and other hotels in Mumbai. This was to be our destination the following week and we had to change our plans.

Hello Ann
You've done a great use of this marvelous architecture.
You framing is well thought to bring graphical elements out, and the two girls dressed with colourful clothes are ideally placed to catch the eyes at the first sight.
A very pleasant scene, compliments.

Hello Ann,
By focusing on the women in their colorful shalwar kameez you managed to take a different kind of photo from the Taj Mahal. Now the nicely decorated marble has just become an elegant background. A fine and attractive composition.
Kind regards,
Gert

You nailed the decisive moment here, Ann. In so much urban photography, I see little difference had the shutter be tripped a little earlier or later. But here, the moment is made by the girl having her hand to her face in an apparent moment of despair or reflection. All the rest is faultless.

Another favourite of mine from your trip to India. The two girls are well placed and add a wonderful splash of colour against the cool background of the stone work.
Well seen & perfectly executed.
Best regards, Bob

I wish to see this wonderful architecture one day in the future. You are lucky for seeing and having plenty of beautiful photos of this elegant structure. This one is unusual with nice geometrical patterns and good use of light. It is a good idea to include those traditional dressed ladies in vivid colours against the soft pastel texture of the walls and the basement. Congratulations and warm regards, Tolga

Hello Ann
I guess you were talking about this picture, when you commented on my Taj post...and I do agree with you! Rather an unusual view of the Taj, where rather than the monument importance has been given to the two girls in colourful dresses. Of course the marble & the calligraphy reminds the viewer where this picture was taken. Nice one!

Greetings Ann,
Fabulous work - you have dealt wonderfully with the standard photographers dilemma of how to get a fresj and original photograph from a site that is photographed thousands of times a day. This is a wonderful piece of work that speaks volumes about tourism and travel. A great piece of work, thanks, Iain.

Hola Ann ........ interesting framing of the girls in Taj Mahal the contrast of the coloring of his clothes on the tones of the marble of the building I like much, it is effective and showy.

Hi Ann!
I like how you use colours contrast in your works!
This is a special one, with the two ladies popping out of the shot thank to their vivid clothes put in this general white marble landscape.
